Thumbs Up Painting and Renovating has been servicing the Greater Toronto Area since 1989 and the Northumberland and Quinte area since 2005. We pride ourselves in delivering timely service, with the utmost quality. Thumbs Up Painting & Decorating was created by Akram Elawar in 1992. Mr. Elawar, a Master Painter, Plasterer & Carpenter had a vision. His vision was to provide the world with a workmanship that was second to none. In the year 2002, with an expanded expertise in construction methods, he registered Thumbs Up Painting and Renovating.

Founder, Innovator, Leader & Family
Sadly, in the year 2010, Mr. Elawar passed away leaving behind a loving family, including, two sons who would carry on the family business and his legacy of craftsmanship. In that same year, eldest son Sarj Elawar transferred ownership and expanded company services.
As our company continues to grow, it is our great customer’s that have defined who we are today. To this day Thumbs Up builds on our founder’s legacy; serving our most important purpose, our community and our customers.
